Politics & The Pulpit – Catalytic Converter Incident and Chinese Balloons – February 15, 2023
On this episode of Politics & The Pulpit, our host Pastor Jerry Cook talks about a guest he was supposed to have someone from the pregnancy center come on, but they declined to come in, so unfortunately, there is no rep from SCV Pregnancy center.
He then starts the show with the quick news of Raquel Welsh’s passing recently due to sickness that wasn’t made known to many people.
Afterward, Pastor Cook talks about the woman who ran over her catalytic converter’s thief. The woman was homeless, sleeping in her car, and the group of people tried to saw off her catalytic converter. She was asleep and woke up due to hearing some strange noises. When she saw that there was a random car next to her, she instantly tried to leave and felt a bump which is when she accidentally ran over the alleged thief. Pastor Cook shares his thoughts and views on the incident on what he thinks should happen in regard to the homeless woman.
Pastor Cook compares that incident to a sad incident of someone who was parked in the church where a catalytic converter was stolen while parked in their parking lot.
He then talks about the latest Chinese balloons. It has been kept to secrecy and nothing much has been released (Pastor Cook). He mentions that it would be a good idea for the president to make a statement with more information about these balloons and what it is doing. The lack of pictures of the balloons being shut down and the aftermath of it makes it a bit strange that we haven’t heard much about it besides the first balloon. They are always shut down in remote areas and take days and weeks to find more information about them. He also questions the administration’s actions and why they were hesitant in shutting down the balloons earlier when they first found out about it around the oceans and instead waited until it reached the land.
Afterward, he continues on the topic of Palestine, Ohio’s recent disaster.
