Dr. Robert Titcher — April 1, 2020

On this episode of the Providence Holy Cross Health Hour with Tom Burton, PT, Tom starts the show by giving thanks and gratitude to all who are working essential services to keep our society moving forward. Tom transitions into talking about how medical directives coming from some of the best in the country has pointed towards maintaining our behavioral shift towards staying safe at home. Having people remain in their homes for at least another month is one of the best treatments we have for Covid-19 in light of not having a vaccine available. Tom also talks about how large amounts of research is being put into drugs already approved by the FDA to find a more readily-available cure or vaccine to stop Covid-19. Tom explains how leading researchers are tirelessly working to analyze the virus to help ensure the highest levels of survivability for all of us. Tom reminds everyone about the most effective preventative steps that can be taken, as they remain the best possible options to keep everyone healthy during this time.

Later in the show, Dr. Robert Titcher, Primary Care for Internal Medicine at Sylmar Medical Center, calls in to talk about what he has seen over the last few weeks of fighting the spread of Covid-19. Dr. Titcher provides his medical expertise and gives us all insight into what his medical staff is doing to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Dr. Titcher talks about how a lot of proposed treatments have been anecdotal, and how scientists are looking hard for something they can prove through testing to implement. Dr. Titcher shares his own personal experiences in what he has observed, and how scientists are determining what does and does not work. He also talks about countries around the world that have made strides towards testing their proposed vaccines and treatments to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
