Santa Clarita life coach Alex Urbina was live on-air this week on his radio show to talk about the F word… Fear.

“If we could master our fears, then we could master ourselves and our lives,” said Alex.

The healthy kind of fear is the natural feeling we get when we are in a dangerous situation that we need to get out of due to safety, said Alex.  “That kind of fear we should be grateful for because it is a gift.”

The unhealthy kind of fear is the kind of fear that shows up in relationships and is spearheaded by your ego, said Alex. These fears might encourage you to put walls up and not open up in order to protect yourself from being hurt.

“We are afraid of being rejected in this relationship, so let’s just not be vulnerable,” said Alex.

When it comes to being fearful of the future, it’s important to just trust that when the time comes, you will be capable of dealing with whatever the situation is, said Alex. “You are powerful enough to handle those future situations when you need to.”

Alex has worked with hundreds of different school districts, community centers, universities and non- profits both with the states and abroad. He takes on a limited number of one-on-one clients per year including couples, coaches, educators and other trainers.
