Real Estate and Other Stuff – Phil’s House Update, EXP, and Least Used Room in the House – February 24, 2023

Today, on the last episode of Real Estate and Other Stuff, Phil and Taylor share with everyone all the latest news in real estate and more. They start the show off by calling Shannon Gutierrez because of how wonderful and helpful she’s been working with Phil, to say thank you.

As usual, they start out with a quick update on Phil’s house and there are still some challenges present regarding the sale of his house. Greg, Taylor’s husband, makes a quick surprise visit for the last day before they continue discussing real estate. Then it’s the last time for By the Numbers, a segment of the show where Taylor and sometimes Engineer Precious, guess the number of active listings, closed listings, and more in the Santa Clarita Area.

Then, Phil opens up an article sent by the station owner, Jeri, regarding a former EXP agent who has filed a sex trafficking lawsuit against the brokerage. Since Phil worked with the company, he tries to shed some light on what happened. Phil and Taylor use their expertise to share what they believe happened and what may happen.

Afterward, it’s onto much lighter topics as they discuss how dining rooms have changed and may not be as useful as it once was. Phil says that when people are looking for a house, most people do not ask for a formal dining room when searching anymore as opposed to how it was back in the day when many people looking to buy a house would ask for a formal dining room included. Phil shares what he would do and what his ideal house includes, concluding that a formal living room isn’t as useful as it used to be either.

They give a quick call to Marla Ferris of Augusta Financial to give a quick thank you for all the work she has done.

As we approach the end of the show, Taylor shares some funny dad jokes and then say goodbye to a great run of the series.
