Santa Clarita Unplugged: Dive deep into Santa Clarita’s art scene with local artists and current West Ranch High School students Savannah Burrows and Hannah Greenwald!

On this episode, Santa Clarita product, singer/songwriter Matt Smolsky joins to discuss how his upbringing in Santa Clarita helped shape his unique style and perspective and his plans for 2019 and more.

Santa Clarita Unplugged – The last Saturday of every month at 10 AM.

About Smolsky:

Smolsky is a singer/songwriter/actor and producer born and raised in Santa Clarita, a suburb of Los Angeles, California. Now based in California, Smolsky is one of the hottest writers in both the pop music and theatre scene. His debut records “Sea Salt and Strawberries” was released in May 2018 and has since brought Smolsky to stages across the world including Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe and Ryman Auditorium, New York’s Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall, and even Liverpool’s The Cavern Club. Smolsky has “performance in his blood” (SCV Magazine) and “takes a modern take on a classic sound, being a one-man version of The Beatles” (The Main).

After getting his start from busking on the streets of Santa Monica at fifteen, Smolsky’s hard work, dedication, and love of music have made him the artist to watch take stages across the world by storm. #SmolskyLIVE

About the Hosts:

Savannah Burrows: A resident of Santa Clarita, CA, Savannah has cultivated a community of supporters who are deeply invested in her success – but none more so than her parents. Her father Bruce, an inventor and entrepreneur, co-writes. Her mother, Bobbi Burrows, is no stranger to the entertainment industry, was a University of Wisconsin-Madison music major that toured with the Wisconsin Singers.

Savannah recently rocked the “Concerts in the Park” summer series for an audience of over 12,000 on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Central Park in Santa Clarita, CA. Savannah is working hard to earn her place in country music.

Hannah Greenwald: A Santa Clarita Valley native and a Junior at West Ranch High School, where she is a proud member of the award winning, on-campus television station West Ranch Television. As a crewmember and on-air personality, Hannah strives to shine a light on the people and places that make The Santa Clarita Valley a special place to live. Whether Hannah spends her time playing piano or playing AYSO soccer, she never fails to take advantage of all the opportunities her neighborhood has to offer.
