Saying “I’m Sorry” — Alex Urbina Radio Show — April 19, 2019

Host: Alex Urbina

Co-Host: Ellen Tunick

Topic: Saying “I’m Sorry”

Santa Clarita life coach Alex Urbina was live on-air this week on his weekly radio show to talk about saying i’m sorry and the impact it has or lack thereof.

This is one of Ellen’s biggest pet peeves, saying i’m sorry, Alex said.

“People use it for everything,” Ellen said. “If it is used for everything then it has lost it’s meaning.”

What would be an appropriate time or scenario in which saying sorry would be justified?

“It would have to look like or be a scenario when I unintentionally did or said something that caused somebody else to feel badly or hurt,” Ellen said.

Is there a difference between saying sorry and apologizing?

When we talk about an apologize it refers to the act of sharing or communicating your sorrow, Alex said. The words “I’m Sorry” are just the words used to express that feeling.

By apologizing or at least recognizing that you made another person feel bad or hurt you let that person know that you care and didn’t mean to give them that feeling.

Alex has worked with hundreds of different school districts, community centers, universities and non- profits both with the states and abroad. He takes on a limited number of one-on-one clients per year including couples, coaches, educators and other trainers.
