Senior Hour – Preventative Measures Against Alzheimers – September 28, 2022

On this episode of The Senior Hour, Dr. Thomas Polucki hosts the show and welcomes in the General Manager of the Paseo Club, Jennifer Azevedo, and Fitness Director Cezanne Youmazzo, as they discuss lifestyle changes that can help prevent Alzheimers and other forms of dementia. Dr. Polucki references how important sleep is to prevent all diseases, including Alzheimers before later discussing the aid that exercise and proper nutrition can provide as well.

With a litany of different exercise courses including tennis, pickle ball, liquid cardio classes, and zumba, the Paseo Club has plenty of different work out options that can suite any seniors needs and keep them active and social with others. Cezanne later discussed the Greatest Results Program that the Paseo Club offers which helps to inform and educate members about their nutrition and how to create a healthy diet.

“We do food prep and cooking. We teach them how to cook healthier and how to make easy dishes,” Cezanne said of the pgoram. “We take them through the aisles of the store and we teach them that the perimeter is where you want to stay because that’s where the good stuff is, and then we read labels and teach them how to understand them.”
