Senior Hour – The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center And Comfort Keepers Providing Resources To Local Seniors – October 19, 2022

On this episode of The Senior Hour, Dr. Gene Dorio and co-host Dr. Thomas Polucki welcome in Kevin MacDonald from the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center. Over the last year, the senior center has provided over one million meals to seniors in the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valley. Further, the senior center in Santa Clarita Valley has also provided social services for seniors.

“We call it a senior center, but we dont have that old school mentality,” Kevin said. “We dont check the ID at the door, if you walk through the door you can take any class you want, you can get care from our social workers, then you go down and get your first meal and you’re hooked for the rest of the year.”

Later, the hosts welcome Myles McNamara from Comfort Keepers as the trio discuss the resources that the organization provides to seniors. The organization understands that seniors have varying ranges of needs which is why they offer a diverse set of offerings. From plans that provide seniors four hours of help per week to 24 hour per day care, Comfort Keepers looks to keep seniors safe and well cared for to provide peace of mind to family members.

Listen to the entire episode here as Dr. Polucki and Dr. Gene discuss the many benefits that both the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center and Comfort Keepers provide to the seniors of our community!
