Get Better With Doctor Polucki – July 10, 2017

Doctor Polucki and guest Ellen Como open the show with a reminder to drink water in this intense heat this summer:

“Water is not tea, water is not Crystal Light, water is not coffee … water is water.” – Ellen Como on importance of drinking a lot of water in hot weather

“A good rule is eight ounces for every fifteen minutes.” – Doctor Polucki

Next, they move into the topic of the show…

Musculoskeletal Injuries

Soft tissue injuries get minimized too often by the medical community. A major mistake people make is to leave these soft tissue or spinal injuries that don’t require surgery up to their primary care doctor. The reality is a chiropractor is better equipped to handle and evaluate these injuries.

“Within the first 72 hours you have a window of opportunity of healing.” – Doctor Polucki

“You go into a state of shock because you don’t believe you are as hurt as you actually are.” – Ellen Como

  1. Emergency Window – within three days or 72 hours
  2. Two weeks –  the window whereafter damage is created within the tissue and spreads
  3. Three months –
  4. Twelve months – this window creates irreparable brain damage
