A Healthy Senior is a Happy Senior — June 17, 2020

On this episode of The Senior Hour with Dr. Gene Dorio and Barbara Cochran, Barbara and Dr. Dorio call in to the studio to do their show remotely while the Safer At Home orders remain in place.

Our first guest on the show is Kevin MacDonald, CEO of the SCV Senior Center. Kevin provides an update on the reopening of the Senior Center and the services they continue to offer. Unfortunately, the Senior Center remains closed until further notice as this is the best way to continue to keep seniors safe amid the pandemic. The Senior Center has many classes they are offering online for more tech-savvy seniors, and they continue to offer their drive-thru and delivery services for the meals they provide to their seniors. Kevin shares all of the creative ways the Senior Center has been continuing to innovate and creatively engage their seniors so that they stay happy and healthy while they remain safer at home. Everyone at the Senior Center has been working tirelessly to create all new ways to make a difference in the lives of the seniors they care for, and Kevin couldn’t be more proud of the hardworking people who make everything happen. Although their services are different, they are not diminished in the slightest and the SCV Senior Center continues to provide everything their seniors could want or need to be happy and healthy. Listen to Kevin’s full interview in the first segment of the podcast.

Our next guest on the show is Myles McNamara, Owner and Operator of Comfort Keepers In-Home Care in Santa Clarita. Myles calls in to the show to talk about how Comfort Keepers has transitioned their services to continue to help the seniors in Santa Clarita during the pandemic. Myles has been working for decades to help seniors in Santa Clarita get them the best possible in-home care services. Myles is extremely proud of his team who have worked so hard to continue to help the seniors across the valley. Find out how Myles is helping seniors in Santa Clarita by listening to his interview in the second segment of the podcast.
