Keeping Seniors Safe from Covid-19 — March 18, 2020

On this episode of The Senior Hour with Dr. Gene Dorio and Barbara Cochran, Alex Urbina, Life Coach, and Kevin MacDonald, CEO of the SCV Senior Center, fill in for Barbara Cochran as she adheres to the CDC’s mandates to keep those above the age of 65 safe in their homes. Kevin shares how the Senior Center is working around the clock to provide meals, medications, and all other services the best they can while following the CDC’s latest mandates. Alex and Kevin share information about how to get in contact with the Senior Center for anyone who needs help while trying to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Kevin talks about how they continue to deliver meals to seniors while respecting the social distancing guidelines given to all of us.

Later in the show, Dr. Dorio comes in to the studio to talk about the essential services he has continued to provide. Although Dr. Dorio is a senior citizen, he also provides essential services to his patients and must continue his practice to help other seniors stay healthy. Dr. Dorio shares what he is doing to follow the CDC’s latest mandate, and how the senior community has responded to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Dr. Dorio and Alex talk about how to present the issue to Santa Clarita and the country at large to help people take this pandemic seriously.
