Santa Clarita Hearing Center — June 10, 2020

On this episode of The Senior Hour with Dr. Gene Dorio and Barbara Cochran, Barbara and Dr. Dorio call in to the studio to do their show remotely while the Safer At Home orders remain in place.

Our first guest on the show is Dr. Ginny Veloz, AUD (Doctor of Audiology). Dr. Veloz comes in to the studio to talk about how the Santa Clarita Hearing Center takes treating hearing problems to the next level. Dr. Veloz grew up with multiple family members that have hearing loss, and she knows how hearing problems can negatively impact relationships without people realizing it. Hearing loss can be also be dangerous because people who aren’t aware they have hearing problems might not notice a siren or firetruck while they are driving. Dr. Veloz shares how the Santa Clarita Hearing Center has helped people continue to treat their hearing problems during the pandemic. Dr. Veloz also talks about how the changes brought on by Covid-19, such as wearing a mask, has made it more difficult for those who have hearing loss to understand others because they can’t read the lips of the person speaking. Dr. Veloz mentions that some people have come in and mentioned that they didn’t realize they were reading lips until people started wearing masks. No matter what your problems are, the Santa Clarita Hearing Center is ready and happy to help you get back your hearing.

Find out more information by giving them a call at (661) 388-4135, or you can visit them in their office located at 23861 McBean Pkwy, D14, Valencia, CA 91355.
