Staying Healthy Year-Round — May 27, 2020

On this episode of The Senior Hour with Dr. Gene Dorio and Barbara Cochran, Barbara and Dr. Dorio call in to the studio to do their show remotely while the Safer At Home orders remain in place.

Our first guest on the show is Dr. Thomas Polucki, DC. Dr. Polucki joins the show and begins by talking about the importance of hydration now that summer temperatures have started to hover in the upper 90s. Senior citizens are more susceptible to dehydration and it is very important that everyone, not just seniors, increase their water intake for the next few months. Dr. Dorio talks about the amount of water that is healthy for men and women to drink, and talks about how something like Gatorade can be very effective in preventing dehydration.

Later in the show, Barbara, Dr. Polucki, and Barbara talk about the ongoing process of handling Covid-19. Dr. Polucki talks about the various ways we all need to continue to do, and that a simple routine of health and fitness can be the best possible medicine against anything. Dr. Dorio and Dr. Polucki talk about how challenging it can be to stay at home and remain in isolation for seniors, and give great tips on how to stay active and involved. Barbara shares some of her personal routines that she has been doing to keep herself healthy while she has been staying at home. Barbara, Dr. Dorio, and Dr. Polucki talk about how maintaining a positive attitude is another simple, yet effective way to keep yourself happy and healthy your entire life.
