Mother Nature will determine the impact natural gas bills have on our citizens, and getting to spring means we still have to get through February and most of March with potentially high bills.
The media is reporting some relief, but for many SCV residents, fear still lingers their gas will be turned off, or they will be taken to collections.
SoCalGas has reassured residents they will not disconnect overdue customers during the first half of the year. Plus, they will delay collections on overdue accounts until April 1, 2023.
If you haven’t already heard, the California Public Utilities Commission approved a one-time credit of $50.77 in February or March, depending on your billing cycle.
Still, questions linger if we will be again subject to a similar rate increase in the future and if our usual base natural gas rate will have inflated like the price of many other products.
Go to www.socalgas.com for more information on how you can make your home heat efficient, and other programs to help those in financial need through the winter months.
Finally, make sure you help those family and friends with the technology, especially older adults, through these tough times.

I have NO doubt that Biden’s anti fossil fuel policies are definitely playing in this increase. Just sayin’.
