These Swedish-originating butter cookies are easy enough for the whole family to contribute with the baking. Get the kids involved in making these tasty cookies for the Christmas tray. 

With Just A Pinch, this recipe is easy to follow and makes for a homemade delicious cookie. 

Ingredients 

• 1 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg, well beaten
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 4 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking powder

Start by preheating the oven to 400 or 375 convection. Lightly butter cookie trays with aluminum lining.

Cream butter well. Add sugar and cream well again.

Add egg and vanilla. Cream once more.

Whisk flour and baking powder together briefly (or sift).

Add flour mix to butter mix gradually.

Combine until you have a smooth dough.

Form into small balls.

Press balls down with either thumb or thimble to make a nice dent in the middle of each. Dip finger or thimble in flour when needed for a clean release.

Fill each dent with a jelly, colored sugar or candied fruit of your choice. Grape jelly, strawberry jelly and apricot are favorites.

Bake for 8 to 10 min until lightly browned then move to the cooling rack.
