After a recent spike in gas prices, Santa Clarita is in need of a guide for cheap gas.

In early April, gas prices rose 20 cents after four of Southern California’s 10 oil refineries began planned and unplanned maintenance.

As of Friday morning, the average price for regular gas in Santa Clarita is $4.05. Midgrade and premium gases are usually somewhere between 10 to 20 cents more expensive than regular, according to the user-generated gas price website GasBuddy.

Diesel, however, is still hovering around $4.

It should be noted that gas prices fluctuate from day to day. All of the following gas prices are current as of Friday morning, and based on findings from GasBuddy.

For Santa Clarita residents in Canyon Country, the cheapest option for gas is expected to be Costco, with a regular price of $3.89. For motorists without a Costco membership, the cheapest gas in Canyon Country can be found for $3.95 at the Arco on Sierra Highway, as of Friday morning.

Drivers in Newhall can expect to find the cheapest gas for $3.95 at Newhall Gas on Lyons Avenue.

Motorists in the Saugus area of Santa Clarita can look for cheap gas at United Oil on Bouquet Canyon Rd. for $3.89.

Santa Clarita residents heading through Valencia are able to find gas at $3.91/gallon at the 7-Eleven station on Newhall Ranch Road.
