The Cube in Valencia was evacuated Tuesday evening for an hazmat investigation after a faulty sensor reported a gas leak.
The purported gas leak incident was reported at 5:27 p.m. and first responder units were called in to The Cube at 27735 Smyth Drive in Santa Clarita, according to Supervisor Bernard Peters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“Everyone was evacuated from the business,” said Peters.
The alarm was eventually discovered to have been a faulty sensor, with no chemicals detected, according to officials with City of Santa Clarita, which owns and operates the ice rink.
According to Peters and eye-witnesses, no injuries were reported and nobody was reported to have become sick due to the fumes.
First responders remain on scene as of Tuesday 6:23 p.m. to investigate the leak.
