The 36th annual Hart Rampage Marching Band Field Tournament takes the field at College of the Canyons Cougar Stadium on Saturday, November 2.
Led by the Hart Regiment Marching Band, 14 time champions of Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, the event promises a full day of entertainment for audiences.
Rampage, an all-day competition, includes over 35 marching bands and color guard from Southern California, including Santa Clarita Valley.
“These kids, it’s amazing to see all the love that they have for music,” said Stacey Normandy, publicity co-chair for Hart Music Boosters, a parent organization. “Anthony Bailey, their Director, this is his 20th year, and what he teaches these kids is unbelievable. We love everything about it.”
Normandy mentioned that parents in the Hart Music Boosters are very involved in supporting the Regiment, handling whatever the band and color guard need, from fundraising to prop-making.
“We pay for everything, instruments, uniforms, equipment… and we build the props,” said Normandy. “During tournaments, the parents assemble the props and bring them out, and we field all of the instruments that are not mobile like xylophones.”
A variety of fresh food is set be available for purchase, including hot meals, smoothies, drinks and snack items. Stay for the awards ceremony and drum line.
The event is set to take place at the College of the Canyons Cougar Stadium from approximately 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 2.
Spectator parking is set to be off Valencia Blvd in lots 6, 7 and 8 nearest the stadium. Guests are asked to please look for signs and park in these designated lots. Due to limited parking this year, parking-lot barbecues or tailgating set-ups are not allowed during the event.
Souvenirs are set to be available with items such as T-shirts, pins, patches, backpacks, flowers, buttons and more.
General admission wristbands are $10.00, students and seniors are $8.00 and children under 5 are free. Printed programs are $5.00. Guests are asked to purchase tickets well ahead of performance time. Wristbands can be purchased at the ticket kiosk in front of the stadium.
The Hart Regiment is also set to raffle off several items during the day, including a handmade, music- themed quilt made by a Hart parent. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the raffle booth on the day of the event to participate.
Normandy encourages residents to support the Hart Regiment, mentioning that the team is looking for sponsors to purchase ads or give donations.
