Hart Of The West Pow Wow, Book Sale Extravaganza To Return To Hart Park

The 26th annual Book Sale Extravaganza and Hart of the West Pow Wow are scheduled to return to Santa Clarita this weekend, officials said Thursday.

The events are scheduled to take place at William S. Hart Park in Newhall on Oct. 5 and 6, according to officials.

During the Pow Wow, there are set to be multiple activities going on to show off different Native American traditions by tribes from all over, according to officials.

There are set to be dancers, drummers, different types of food and art pieces for sale, said Cindy Reeves, the vendor coordinator for the event.

“There is going to be jewelry, clothing, painted gourds and more for sale at different booths,” Reeves said.

Attendees can also visit the book sale, where a wide range of books for readers and collectors are set to be available, according to officials.

Most softcover books are set to be sold for 50 cents, or $1 for hardcover books, and six pocketbooks are set to be sold for $1, according to event organizers.

Hart Park is located at 24151 Newhall Avenue in Newhall.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
