A moving truck was fully involved in a fire on Sierra Highway Sunday afternoon, closing lanes in Newhall.

Just after 3:30 p.m., reports were received of a vehicle fire on Sierra Highway near the SR-14 Freeway onramp, according to Supervisor Flores with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire was later dubbed the Sierra Incident.

“We got on scene to find a full moving truck fully involved in a fire,” Flores said at 4 p.m. “There has not been any spread to brush.

The northbound 5 to the northbound 14 freeway truck route is set to be closed for four hours, according to Officer Brandt with the California Highway Patrol Traffic Management office.

No injuries were reported in relation to the fire, as of Sunday evening.
