Metrolink Antelope Valley Line To Undergo Partial Weekend Closure

This weekend, Metrolink is expected to complete a maintenance and rehabilitation project along the Antelope Valley Line, temporarily halting train operations between Newhall and Lancaster.

On Friday, May 20, Metrolink Train 231 is expected to be canceled, and bus services are set to make all stops between L.A. Union Station and Lancaster, according to officials with Metrolink.

The project is also expected to temporarily close tracks between Newhall and Lancaster Saturday and Sunday.

Alternate bus services are scheduled to be provided for passengers commuting between Los Angeles and Lancaster on Friday and between Newhall and Lancaster on Saturday and Sunday.

Metrolink provided buses are expected to take the fastest, safest routes available, however, delays are possible as buses cannot travel the distance from Newhall and Lancaster as fast as a train can due to potential traffic, according to Metrolink officials.

Facial coverings continue to be required at stations, aboard trains, and on buses used for alternate transportation.
