At Least One Hospitalized After Rollover Crash On 14 Freeway, Traffic Impacted

At least one person was transported to the hospital Saturday following a traffic collision on the 14 Freeway  that prompted a large response from first responders.

Reports of an expanded traffic collision with a rollover vehicle came in at around 12:37 p.m. on the southbound 14 Freeway at Golden Valley Road in Santa Clarita, according to Ed Pickett with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“The vehicle was reported to be overturned at the time of the call,” said Pickett. “Two paramedic units were requested.”

Preliminary reports stated that there were possible persons trapped in the collision.

As of 1:10 p.m., at least one person was transported to the hospital with trauma injuries, but it remains unclear exactly how many were transported and in what condition. The extent of the injuries are unknown.

When first responders arrived on scene, they reported one passenger laying down on the embankment next to the overturned vehicle that allegedly crashed into a light pole, according to the California Highway Patrol Incident Logs.

The exposed wires from the light pole pose an “immediate hazard” to the public and traffic has been blocked accordingly, while officials work to correct the issue.
