One person on a bicycle has been reported to have died Saturday as a result of an accident with a vehicle in the Angeles National Forest near Santa Clarita.
At around 12:40 p.m. Saturday, first responders received reports of a Santa Clarita crash involving a bicyclist and a car on the 21000 block of Sand Canyon Road in the Angeles Forest, according to spokesperson Bernard Peters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Initial reports indicated that the bicyclist had obtained trauma to the head after colliding with a vehicle.
First responders, Newhall California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers, and a rescue helicopter were dispatched to the scene before the incident was declared to be fatal by CHP officials.
“It resulted in fatal injuries,” said Officer Brandt with the CHP Traffic Management.
According to Brandt the traffic in the area is being controlled to maintain the scene, and units are still on scene.
No other injuries have been reported as of Saturday afternoon. The identity of the biker is unknown as of Saturday afternoon.
