Canyon Country Shooting Call Determined To Be False Report

A Canyon Country shooting call on Tuesday was determined to be a false report after no evidence of a crime was found, officials said.

The incident was reported at about 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wendy’s on the 19000 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country, according to Lt. Ignacio Somoano with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“We are investigating a false report of an emergency,” Somoano said.

The manager of the Wendy’s location said she “heard a gunshot go off in the back, on the side.”

“I got scared and started shaking,” she said.

A containment was set up by deputies while they searched the area.

The LASD Aero Bureau responded with a helicopter circling the perimeter of the block, according to officials on the scene.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and staged nearby in preparation for any potential injuries.

“We did respond to a call in the area for Sheriff’s,” said Inspector Henry Navaraez with the LACoFD. “No other info, but our units are staged.”

Soledad Canyon Road was shut down in both directions near the intersection of Hideaway Avenue for nearly an hour due to the incident.

The incident remains under investigation as of Wednesday.

  1. Hey Liberals! Did they go there with flowers and balloons for the gunman? Or did they bring guns to the gun fight?
