The City of Santa Clarita is expected to hold a virtual Veteran’s Day ceremony to honor local veterans, as well as currently serving military members and their families.
The ceremony, now online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is to include a pre-recorded, patriotic speaking and music program that can be viewed on the city’s Facebook page and SCVTV on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.
A flyover by the Coast Guard, a moment of silence and the changing of flags by the Knights of Columbus Santa Clarita Assembly and Vietnam Veterans of America, are also set to be included in the virtual ceremony.
Performances are aimed to honor those who have passed away or were killed in action.
The City is also requesting submissions of photos of veterans and currently serving military members to include in a photo montage. The deadline for photos is Oct. 19. To submit a photo, click here.
