Congresswoman Katie Hill, D-Agua Dulce, who was elected in January, shared highlights from her 100 days in office Friday.
“I am so proud to serve the people of my hometown in Washington and even prouder to already be delivering for our community,” said Hill in a statement. “I promised that I would put the priorities of the people above corporations and special interests and that’s exactly what I’ve done to achieve results.”
100 days.
100 days of serving the people of my hometown.
100 days of bringing our priorities and our concerns to the table.
100 days of putting our community above corporations and special interests.

In her first 100 days, Hill and her office listed the following accomplishments:
Hill was elected as one of only two freshmen to serve as Representatives in Congress, and was appointed Vice Chair of the House Oversight Committee where she has used her position to “fight for accountability in government, lowering the cost of prescription drugs and increasing transparency regarding climate change”, according to an official statement.

Her first bill commemorated the Saint Francis Dam disaster of March 12, 1928, which to this day remains the second-greatest loss of life in California’s history, killing over 400 people.
Hill also passed a bipartisan bill through the House of Representatives to protect whistleblowers by amending federal law in order to allow whistleblowers to report concerns about classified programs directly to their supervisors.
The representative has also authored bipartisan legislation to address Medicare Part B enrollment concerns, as well as securing $80,000 in VA and Social Security benefits for 25th Congressional District constituents.
Additionally, Hill has also used her position in Washington to request assistance in expediting the decision to terminate the contract pertaining to the CEMEX mining project.
During her time in office, Hill has cosponsored 167 pieces of legislation and signed onto 233 letters, including 16 different healthcare bills.
Besides her accomplishments on the floor, in the past 100 days Hill and her staff have opened two district offices, held two town halls, attended 22 community events, and visited 16 businesses, military bases, and other key sites in the district.
“I am using my position in Washington to work on issues that our community has said time and time again are the biggest challenges they face,” said Hill. “In the past few months, we passed our landmark H.R. 1, For The People Act, to get big money out of politics and make Washington and our government work for the people again. We’re advancing critical new bills to lower health costs and prescription drug prices. We’re making housing more affordable and doing the work to assemble a bold investment in rebuilding America’s infrastructure.”
At this time, the House of Representatives has passed several pieces of legislation Hill has cosponsored, including:
- H.R. 1 – For The People Act
- H.R. 7 – Paycheck Fairness Act
- H.R. 8 – Bipartisan Background Checks Act
- H.R. 1112 – Enhanced Background Checks Act
- H.R. 268 – Disaster supplemental funding
- H.R. 676 – NATO Support Act
- H.R. 840 – Veterans Access to Child Care Act
- H.R. 1585 – Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act
“With the support and guidance of the community, we truly hit the ground running and I can’t wait to keep bringing our concerns and our voice to the table,” added Hill.
