Democrat Jonathan Ahmadi Announces Campaign For State Assembly District 38

Local community leader, engineer and staff member for former congresswoman Katie Hill, Jonathan Ahmadi, has announced his candidacy for State Assembly District 38, which includes Santa Clarita.

“The communities of the Santa Clarita and Simi Valleys are at a crossroads,” Ahmadi said in a statement Thursday. “The challenges posed by the homelessness crisis and the skyrocketing cost of housing are daunting, and we must face them while trying to recover from the pandemic that brought so much suffering and economic pain to so many working families.”

Currently represented by Republican Suzette Martinez Valladares from Santa Clarita, State Assembly District 38 encompasses Santa Clarita and the surrounding valleys. The seat is up for election in 2022.

Ahmadi has held several positions within the Santa Clarita community, including Vice President of the Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative and Co-Founder of the Santa Clarita Independent Districting Committee.

His roles often focus on homelessness and providing veteran services, as well as putting an end to gun violence. This includes being a member of the Santa Clarita Homelessness Task Force and NextSCV.

“This district needs and deserves leadership in Sacramento that reflects our values and will fight for policies that put working families first by creating more affordable housing and homeownership opportunities, addressing the root causes of homelessness,” Ahmadi said.

Ahmadi has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from UCLA and has worked in a variety of fields including engineering, entertainment and healthcare. He is a member of the Democratic Alliance for Action, the Santa Clarita Valley Democrats, and the Simi Valley Democrats.

He was also a staff member for former Congresswoman Katie Hill.

“I’ve proven that I can bring people together, get things done and put our community’s values first,” Ahmadi said. “I’ll do the same in Sacramento and will work to build a better valley for generations to come.”

  1. When I see a D for democrat
    I read D for delete

I’ll never EVER vote for a democrat, never.

    • Same here. He will bow down for what ever Newsom, Pelosi, or Schiff tells him to do. That would include legalizing drug use in Santa Clarita valley, critical race theory taught to our children to make them racist, opening strip clubs, mass illegal immigration, this year Newsom will let 76,000 prisoners out of jail, and allowing the homelss to continue to destroy our neighborhoods.

I can’t find ome Democrat run city in America that is thriving. Everything the Left touches turns to s#$t, everything.

The evidence is everywhere. Drive into LA City or San Francisco. These Dem politicians can’t even walk down the street in their districts without an armed security detail to protect them from their drug adddict voters.

  2. How is being a staff member for former congresswoman Katie Hill a positive on your resume?

What is a self appointed Local community leader?

I don’t think we need another Katie Hill,
or Christy Smith who voted to put criminals next to residents in Saugus.

  3. I am supporting Suzette
. She has proven to be a leader and I like her.
