Two people were found by deputies Monday allegedly passed out in a vehicle in Newhall Park with drug paraphernalia still in the hand of one suspect.
On Monday at approximately 4:15 a.m. deputies patrolling near the Newhall Park-&-Ride noticed a parked vehicle with an expired registration which prompted deputies to approach the vehicle, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“As they approached the vehicle, they saw a male and female passed out inside the vehicle, with drug paraphernalia in the hand of the male,” Arriaga added.
During this time deputies searched the vehicle in which they located multiple bags and containers containing methamphetamine, heroin, a large bag containing psilocybin mushrooms, various prescription pills, approximately 60 keys believed to access mailboxes and vehicles, and contraband similar for use in sales of narcotics, Arriaga said.
Ivan Weatherly, 48 from Granada hills, was booked on charges for possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of heroin for sales, and possession of prescription pills, Arriaga said.
EmmyLou Tuttle, 38, a transient, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The duo were booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station, and subsequently released on citation to appear in court at a later date, Arriaga said.

Memo to Jacquel Smith- If your intention has anything to do with journalism do not editorialize. Leave that for the comments. The use of the term “Sleeping Beauties” in your headline is professionally inappropriate, even for this website.
Wouldn’t want to offend the two scum bags that are obviously driving around town stealing mail and doing dope! FFS call them whatever you want just never let those pieces of trash back on the street.
The comment was about journalism.
They get press releases. Blame LASD. That is cops humor.
