The incident was reported at about 4:10 p.m. Friday near the Albertsons on the 27600 block of Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus, according to Lt. Marquez with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies are still investigating,” Marquez said.

Upon arrival, the suspect and victim were not found in the area, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.

“This incident remains under investigation,” Miller said. “The area has been cleared and is safe.”

The suspect, possibly a 15-year-old, still fled from the area toward Haskell Canyon Road, according to initial reports from Sheriff’s officials on scene.

“I was exiting the Albertsons when four high school students ran toward me in front of Saugus Drugs screaming ‘somebody is shooting, somebody is shooting,’” said Justin Frye, a witness of the incident.

Frye then got behind a pole, checked the area, made sure the scene was safe before proceeding back inside the store to find the high school students.

“I can tell they were wearing Saugus shirts so I know they were heightened in situations like this,” Frye said, adding he saw no signs of injuries.

No persons were treated or transported to the hospital in connection to the incident, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

  1. I think the story is partial bs I’m sure the kids said that but I’d bet it’s not true and 2 Nd ppl do need to be responsible with their guns but 1 kid who’s father owned guns who’s passed showing up at school with a gun does not mean all parents kids have access to their guns and if a parent should be held accountable for the kids actions half of you would be in jail by now for your kid fighting cursing ditching speeding etc get real

  2. It appears the “shots” were nothing more than kids popping bags of chips while screaming “gun”. After what this community has gone through, I hope their parents punish them beyond comprehension. There are kids afraid to leave the house due to PTSD who were by the store.
