Deputy Injured After Canyon Country Fight

A deputy was reportedly injured Wednesday afternoon as the result of a Canyon Country fight with a suspect.

Around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, deputies requested backup to the 21200 block of Willow Weed Way in Canyon Country after a fight erupted between deputies and a suspect, said Sgt. Adam Stoll with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies were conducting a follow-up with the suspect from a previous incident and the suspect became combative,” Stoll said.

Once deputies were able to detain the suspect, firefighters were requested to the scene after one of the deputies and suspect sustained unknown injuries, according to Stoll.

The injuries of both the deputy and suspect, as well as the exact circumstances leading up to the fight, are unknown as of Wednesday afternoon.

  1. What’s up with Canyon Country in the last few years? Very sad that people bring their LA values to Awesome Town! I guess no more!

  2. Good ole trailer parks

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
