Dorsey Family, Santa Clarita Representatives To Join Rally To Recall D.A. Gascón

On Monday, it was announced that a Santa Clarita Valley rally to recall Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón would be held in Central Park on Thursday, with appearances from the family of murder victim Michelle Dorsey and local elected representatives.

A rally for the recall of L.A. District Attorney Gascón is slated to occur in Santa Clarita’s Central Park this Thursday in protest of policies set by the D.A. that some have called “for the criminals,” according to organizers.

“27 cities representing over 1.5 million Angelenos have come together to stand for victims, survivors, and families of lost loved ones because the Los Angeles DA has abandoned law, order, and justice for all,” said Jonathan Hatami, L.A. Deputy District Attorney. “LASD now has over 6,000 rejected cases as a result of Gascon’s policies.”

The rally will reportedly feature such notable guests as the family of murder victim Michele Dorsey, Santa Clarita Mayor Bill Miranda, Assemblymember Suzette Valladares and Santa Clarita City Councilmember Jason Gibbs, according to officials.

In March, the Santa Clarita City Council joined the growing number of cities that have passed votes of no confidence in Gascón, with several city officials reportedly believing that his actions risked the safety of the general public.

“The only way to ensure nothing happens is to do nothing,” Councilman Jason Gibbs said at the time. “This vote is something (…) to demonstrate the serious concerns we have within this community.”

Concerns over crime in California have been brought up by some organizers as the reason behind the movement to recall the district attorney.

“Homicides are up. Shootings are up. Retail thefts are up. Criminals have no fear of prosecution. The Los Angeles D.A. has implemented blanket policies that fail to consider public safety,” Deputy D.A. Hatami said. “His policies also violate the will of the people.”

Santa Clarita city officials also contend that Gascón’s directives “violate state law,” alluding to the idea that many of the directives either undermine or conflict with previously passed legislation and ballot initiatives.

Proponents for the recall must collect upwards of 500,000 signatures from LA County registered voters within a 160-day period, according to officials.

The signature deadline for organizers is reportedly scheduled for October 27, 2021, and if successful would lead to a 2022 election, according to officials.

The rally is slated to occur in Central Park, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91350.

  1. Sad that he was even ejected. If you don’t know who you are voting for, please do everyone a favor and don’t vote blindly. Gascon is destroying our community.

  2. I find it hard to believe that GasCON & newsom have people in throe corner , who are against the recalls.

    • Kms, no surprise, it’s all about the money,

George Soros donated $2 million for the campaign of Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón, who as a candidate “promised to get rid of cash bail, not pursue prosecution enhancements for gangs and guns, and not seek the death penalty for any offenses” and won, folks “voted” for that campaign ?
Additionally, he recently hired a new prosecutor who has displayed anti-police sentiments and wants to abolish prisons.

George Soros is currently backing a Gascón clone in Orange County for more of same.

  3. Central Park had a recall Gascon petition booth nearby the Concerts in the Park event (not in the sponsored part of the event) and Turners on Bouquet has one almost every Saturday.

  4. This guy is a despicable human being.Shocking to think people actually read up and said yeah this is our guy.The same way with Newsom another sleazy, slimy elixir selling snake oil salesman these two clowns need to spend the rest of their lives in pelican bay thinking of the damage they’ve done to Californians.

  5. They have people by Sam’s Club in Carl Boyer most of the time for the Recall Gascon signing.
