The fifty-meter pool is set to reopen Monday at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center after eight months of construction closed down the pools. 

In February the dive pool was reopened for public use after months of construction that made repairs and updated equipment at both of the pools. 

The SCAC was constructed 20 years ago in 2003 and according to the city, was in need of repair after pool plaster and deck surfaces began wearing out. 

During construction, 205 yards of concrete were removed and replaced around the pool and in the fifty-meter pool, 9,000 square feet of the shell were re-plastered by a crew of over 40 workers. Inside the pool, 34 new LED underwater lights were replaced, as well as new drains, anchors, inlets and mainline values. 

The new deck and pool is expected to last for the next 15 to 20 years. 

The funding for the project came from a measure A grant, an annual tax in Los Angeles County to revitalize parks, playgrounds, centers and more.
