Santa Clarita Prostitution Bust Nets Seven Arrests

The Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Taskforce, along with deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, conducted a human trafficking operation in Valencia, officials said.

The prostitution bust was conducted at a Santa Clarita area hotel on May 21. During the operation, Sheriff’s personnel arrested 7 adults, according to Sheriff’s officials.

Jerome Roberson, 32, of Bakersfield, was arrested after arranging an undercover deputy sheriff to work for him as a commercial sex worker. Roberson was booked at the Santa Clarita Station on felony charges of Pandering, officials said.

Five male adults were arrested after responding to sexually suggestive ads placed on several internet sites. Each of the males agreed to meet undercover Sheriff’s deputies at a local hotel for the purposes of commercial sex.

One female adult was arrested after arriving at a local hotel and soliciting sex for money from an undercover male detective. All those arrested during this operation were transported to and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on prostitution charges, according to Sheriff’s officials.

The operation included task force partners from the Los Angeles Unified School District Police Department (LAUSD), and the Los Angeles County Probation Department.
