Author and Valencia resident Jessika Grewe Glover held her first local book signing of her debut novel at Barnes and Noble Booksellers on Saturday.
Glover’s debut novel “Another Beast’s Skin” is an adult fantasy novel that was released November 2, 2021 and is a planned trilogy. The second novel, “A Braiding of Darkness,” was released in March of this year.
“It’s been full-throttle since release day,” said Glover. “I’ve never been in publishing before and I was warned nothing goes smoothly.”
Glover’s novel journey began in 2018 when she, her husband and two kids traveled to England to visit her in-laws in their 16th-century cottage. From there, Glover began to have inspiration for her fantasy novel, even basing the cottage in the book off her in-law’s cottage.
Her first two novels in the trilogy were released in the last two years, and her third is set to be released in October of this year. Since release day, Glover has been working on marketing appearances, especially in Santa Clarita.
“I love the idea of being in my community, that’s a big deal. I feel like the success of anything is just the village behind it,” said Glover.
Glover made her appearance at Barnes and Noble in Valencia, signing copies of her novel and chatting with readers. Her two children were also present for support.
Moving forward, Glover hopes to make writing a full time career, utilizing her degree in creative writing.
“I’ve been a personal trainer for many years but this is where I really want my focus to be,” said Glover. “I’m ready for this to have my full attention.”
Glover’s first two novels can be found in-stores and online at major booksellers. To learn more about the author, visit her Instagram @jessikagreweglover or Twitter @jessikamittens.
