Man Arrested For Felony Vandalism, Battery With Shoe Inside Hotel North Of Santa Clarita

A man was arrested Wednesday for breaking a window and assaulting a man with a shoe when he was asked to leave a hotel north of Santa Clarita where he had been illegally pulling fire alarms.

On Wednesday, deputies responded to the 51500 block of Peace Valley Road in Lebec north of Castaic regarding a call for service to search the vicinity of a hotel, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson  with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“It was reported that an unknown male adult was pulling the fire alarms at the hotel and assaulted another male,” Arriaga said.

Upon arrival, deputies were directed to the suspect’s location where the suspect was apprehended without further incident, according to Arriaga.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly set off the fire alarm several times and broke a window when asked to leave the hotel, according to Arriaga.

“The suspect then used his shoe to physically assault the victim,” Arriaga said. “The victim sustained minor injury and declined medical treatment.”

Jesus Ceballos, 31, from Avemal California, was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for felony vandalism and misdemeanor battery in lieu of $20,000 bail.
