“We’ve ran into people and been put into contact with people in Van Nuys that have said they have seen Krystal around and active in the area,” said Edwards’ sister, Karianne Horwat. “No one can pinpoint her exact location, but the nice thing is that our canvassing on Sepulveda has resulted in people telling us they’ve seen her in the last couple weeks.”

Krystal Edwards Usrey was last seen on Nov. 11 and had last spoken with her family on Nov. 14, according to the Facebook group “Let’s Find Krystal Usrey Edwards.” Since then, none of her loved ones have been in direct contact with her, or seen her in the Van Nuys locations she usually frequents.

Edwards is 6’2” with blonde hair and has been described as “vivacious, and likes to sing and dance,” according to her family.

“Between her personality and being blonde, tall and thin, she’ll really stand out in the area,” said David King, a friend of the family.

She was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, according to her mother Margie Usrey.

Edwards’ mental health issues and legal battle for her children has also led her to self-medicate, according to her family.

While she is not able to see her children, a sense of grief and loss are harming her disorders, according to program director at The WayOut Recovery SCV Bob Sharits.

Edwards has tried to get help several times, but because of her disorders’ symptoms she doesn’t feel like herself and turns to self-medications again.

“She’s a good person, she just needs to be guided back and needs some help,” said her mother.

“She was last seen wearing red and black pajama pants and a grey sweatshirt and carrying a grey and pink backpack,” said the LAPD’s official Missing Person’s Report.

The family noted that the missing Hart alumna may be identifying herself with the last name “Edwards,” or more likely, “Usrey.”

“It’s the public that’s going to be the biggest tool in spotting her,” said King.

The Los Angeles Police Department has already filed a missing person’s report, and any new information can be directed to Officer Carson at the LAPD Missing Persons Unit at 213-996-1800 or during non-business hours at 877-527-3247.
