‘NCIS’ Set To Film In Old Town Newhall

Popular CBS drama “NCIS” is expected to film a mock foot chase and pedestrian/car accident scene in Old Town Newhall on Thursday.

Filming is set to take place on Sept. 24 between 5  a.m. and 8 p.m. Traffic control is expected to take place in both directions of Market St., from Newhall Ave. to Walnut St. from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., according to the Santa Clarita Film Office.

Full road closures are expected on the same streets from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m on 8th St., Walnut St. to Main St. from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. No parking is permitted on portions of Walnut St., Market St. and 8th St. 

Exterior scenes are also set to be filmed at Veteran’s Plaza. The scene includes a foot chase heading down the alley to 8th St. and closure of Walnut St. 

Additionally, the mock pedestrian and vehicle accident scene is expected to take place on 8th St. Sheriff’s are expected to be on site for traffic and safety control, according to the film office. 

Cast and crew vehicles are set to be located offsite and production vehicles located at 24317 Newhall Ave. and 22900 Market St. 

Production of NCIS shut down in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic while filming season 17. They have since picked up filming for their 18th season on Sept. 9. The series has an extensive history of filming in the Santa Clarita Valley.
