Officials with the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office issued 21 citations Thursday to commercial vehicle drivers who were speeding in Castaic.
In about three hours, three officers from the Newhall CHP office issued citations to commercial vehicles exceeding the 40 mph speed limit on the downgrade section of the 5 Freeway from Templin Highway to Lake Hughes Road in Castaic.
Officials encourage drivers to slow down and follow the speed limits in order to avoid speeding citations.
“It’s easy for gravity to get hold of your vehicle on that stretch of freeway,” said CHP officials. “Remember, the maximum for cars is 65 mph. Please be safe and have a good weekend.”
