Over 550 Valencia High School seniors celebrated earning their diploma at their graduation ceremony on Friday night at College of the Canyons.
The stands at College of the Canyons’ football field were filled to the brim with family and friends cheering on their graduating senior.
Family and friends brought signs, large-scale pictures of their graduating senior, and even air horns to celebrate as names were being read and diplomas were handed out.
“It was [the students’] ability to celebrate and recognize the value of success that led us here today,” said Principal Pete Getz during his commencement speech. “Remember guys: once a Viking, always a Viking.”
Among the over 550 graduating seniors, 217 graduated with honors and/or a grade point average of over 4.0.
After the ceremony was over, family and friends headed down to the field to take pictures with their freshly-minted Valencia High School graduate.
