A 5 freeway crash involving one overturned truck closed southbound lanes Sunday afternoon.

Just before 2:30 p.m., reports were received of a traffic collision with an overturned vehicle in the No. 1 lane of southbound I-5 near Calgrove Boulevard in Newhall, according to Officer Peter Nicholson with the California Highway Patrol.

“One truck was overturned in the number one lane,” Nicholson said. “It was a multi-vehicle collision… Two lanes are going to be closed for an unknown duration.”

No major injuries were reported in relation to the collision as of Sunday afternoon, according to Supervisor Melanie Flores with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Two lanes of the southbound 5 Freeway remained closed as of 2:50 p.m. Sunday.
