The partnership is set to expand primary care access in the community by allowing One Medical to improve its specialty services for members in Southern California, according to Providence officials.

One Medical is a technology-enabled primary care provider that offers services to patients through personal memberships, as well as through employer agreements. One Medical currently has five offices in Los Angeles, according to officials.

“Providence St. Joseph Health is the largest healthcare provider in Southern California, offering comprehensive, high-quality and compassionate care close to where people live and work,” said Erik G. Wexler, chief executive for Providence St. Joseph Health. “This partnership is part of our commitment to ensuring our community members get the right care at the right place, at the right time.”

Providence is a national, not-for-profit health system with 51 hospitals, 829 physician clinics, senior services, supportive housing and many other health and educational services serving communities across seven states, according to company officials.

The new services are set to include clinics that will operate under the company’s membership-based primary care model, offering patients same-day appointment scheduling and unlimited secure messaging with providers.

Other services are set to include free 24/7 on-demand virtual care, a commitment to on-time appointments, and more time with providers, according to Providence officials.

“One Medical’s collaboration with Providence St. Joseph Health, one of the nation’s premier health networks, will allow us to work together to deliver high-quality health care experiences to more people in Southern California,” said Amir Dan Rubin, One Medical’s president and CEO. “As we collaborate to streamline primary and specialty care services, we look forward to advancing overall health outcomes together, keeping our communities healthy and happy.”

The official launch for the partnership is scheduled for the month of February, according to officials.
