The Women’s March started in 2017, one day after President Trump was inaugurated in office.

Women and their allies came together in the streets of downtown Los Angeles to show support for women empowerment and reproductive rights, as well as their issues with “toxic masculinity.”

Queer SCV, a social group for the LGBTQ community living in the Santa Clarita Valley, also attended the march.

“Everyone was full of joy and empowerment. It was such a beautiful experience to be a part of,” said Bea Castillo, a member of Queer SCV.

The demonstration began at Pershing Square, where attendees began marching to Grand Park in front of Los Angeles City Hall. Mayor Eric Garcetti then took the stage with others to address the large audience.

Supporters brought signs to display their messages, including, “My body, my choice,” and, “Girls just want to have human rights.”

People at the march also showed support for Gillette’s latest ad targeting “toxic masculinity.” The ad showed men catcalling women and addressing sexual harassment.

“I see how my sister is being treated, she can’t go to a bar without predator guys approaching her. It’s very unfortunate and it’s scary,” said Castillo.

  1. Hmm, those signs they are holding…not a whole lot about ‘women’s’ rights. But a whole lot about a bunch of other rights… Tell me, why is this called the “Women’s March” again?

  2. So many interesting signs…tell me, why is this called a ‘Women’s March’ again?

  3. Thank the Lord for his mercy.

  4. Looks to me like a bunch of confused kids that have never worked a full work day.
