Santa Clarita Drug-Free Youth Encourages Teen Wellness With ‘Stay Safe’ Summer Series

Announcing its virtual “Stay Safe” Summer Series, Drug-Free Youth in Santa Clarita Valley (DFY in SCV) is scheduled to post weekly content to inspire teens to make good choices in the areas of drugs, alcohol, impaired driving and more.

DFY in SCV is a free, school-based and voluntary program brought forth by the City of Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Fifth Supervisorial District and the William S. Hart Union High School District to give students the necessary guidance needed to remain drug-free and succeed in both school and life.

Understanding the social pressures teens face, especially with being a teen in 2020, the DFY in SCV team intends to educate and empower Santa Clarita students to make worthwhile decisions to encourage a life led by positive and healthy behaviors through the “Stay Safe” Summer Series.

The curriculum, composed of compelling and engaging content, encompasses the lifelong skills appropriate for each age to combat negative peer pressure, while simultaneously aiming to assist parents in broaching important discussions within their homes.

Spanning over a period of nine weeks, participants will be provided with tips and resources discussing how to maintain their health and safety during the summer months.

The “Stay Safe” Summer Series is scheduled to launch on Thursday, June 18 with a public service announcement (PSA) video as well as content detailing distracted driving, driving curfews and DUIs.

The Santa Clarita Valley community will be able to watch this informative series on the DFY in SCV website, social media accounts and YouTube playlist for those unable to join the live event.

Partnering with various speakers and organizations in the series, the DFY in SCV team is scheduled to deliver interactive content with crucial stories, statistics and facts to encourage Santa Clarita’s youth to “Stay Safe.”

  1. Teens, don’t hang around with druggies, thugs, gang bangers, losers, etc.! Watch out for fools that dress like(the uniform) of the same, you’re inviting trouble as well as hanging with Gangster Rappers! Stay in school!
