Santa Clarita Grocery Presented With ‘2023 Nonprofit Of The Year’ Award By Senator Scott Wilk

Senator Scott Wilk and Santa Clarita Mayor Jason Gibbs went to Santa Clarita Grocery on Friday to formally present the 2023 Nonprofit of the Year award for the 21st Senate District, and commemorate the achievement with a California Senate Resolution.

Since the start of 2023, Santa Clarita Grocery started serving an additional 4,752 meals to 198 families, which equates to 792 people.

As of June of this year, Santa Clarita Grocery provides a total of 60,336 meals to its 2,514 families, which equates to 10,056 people.

Senator Wilk and Mayor Gibbs both spoke at the ceremony and congratulated all of the volunteers and staff members that work hard to provide meals for their community.

“It’s a shared vision. It’s about doing something greater than yourself,” Senator Wilk said to the volunteers of Santa Clarita Grocery as he presented the award.

“To be able to help those that are down, our seniors, our veterans… I think it’s a great thing. I think it’s one of the reasons why Santa Clarita is the community that it is. So many people care and are involved.”

Owner of Santa Clarita Grocery, Bradley Grose, also took time to thank the dedicated volunteers that help the nonprofit provide food to so many families.

“I just want to say that you’re transforming what serving looks like,” Grose said. “It’s remarkable to see what we’re accomplishing so bravo to you.”

Santa Clarita Grocery, which resides in California’s 21st Senatorial District, was among around 100 other nonprofit organizations across the state to win the award.

Santa Clarita Grocery works with Albertsons, BevMo, Costco, Ralph’s, Sprouts, Vons, Walmart, Bennetts Honey Farm, Italia, and Bagel Boys.

The nonprofit also works with faith-based organizations such as First Presbyterian Church of Newhall, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Real Life Church, Valencia Methodist Church, Community Christian Church, Haven House, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
