Santa Clarita Kite Festival Rescheduled Due To Rain

The nonprofit Child Rights and You (CRY) is rescheduling the kite festival for Santa Clarita residents to a later date this month due to rain, officials said Wednesday.

The event was originally scheduled to take place this weekend; however due to the weather, event organizers have rescheduled the event to Saturday, Feb. 16.

“This nonprofit helps underprivileged children in the United States and India in providing health care, education supplies, food and basic needs,” said Varnica Singh, the Los Angeles Action Center lead.

The festival is set to feature food from Bollywood Bytes, a children’s dance performance and raffle prizes, according to event organizers.

The Kite Festival is now scheduled to take place on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 12 to 2 p.m. at West Creek Park, located at 24247 Village Circle Drive in Valencia.

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes.
