Since 1932, Newhall has been the home to an Independence Day parade, and officials say that this year is set to be the best yet.
Santa Clarita’s Fourth of July event has been described as the biggest small-town parade in the country.
“It feels wonderful,” said Linda Storli, chair of the committee for the parade. “I’ve been going to the parade for 40 years, and I’ve been the chair for 25.”
The parade is set to start on Main Street in Old Town Newhall near William S. Hart Park around 9 a.m, according to officials.
After reaching Lyons Ave, the parade is scheduled to head west, and turn north on Orchard Village Blvd, and set to finish on 16th St near Placerita Jr High.
Santa Clarita residents who wish to participate in the parade are still able to sign up until June 15, according to Storli.
“What I really want people to understand is that this is their parade, come and see it,” Storli added. “If you see it one time with your kids, you will be a participant.”
