One person was transported to a local hospital Wednesday after being involved in a Castaic car crash and experiencing a seizure, officials said.
First responders received a call at 11:50 a.m. for a person having a seizure in the 29000 block of Plymouth Road in Castaic, according to officials.
“There was a single-vehicle traffic collision with a person who had a seizure,” said Officer Josh Greengard with the California Highway Patrol Newhall Office.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department transported one person to a local hospital.
“It’s unclear if the seizure caused the accident or if the person had a seizure from the accident,” said Greengard.
California law permits the Department of Motor Vehicles to investigate and reexamine a person’s ability to safely drive a motor vehicle for a variety of reasons, including information coming to the department’s attention that a person has a physical or mental disorder that may affect his or her ability to drive safely, according to officials.
