Senior Hour – Upcoming Events At The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center And The UnGunn With Kurt Waite – November 16, 2022

On this episode of The Senior Hour, Dr. Thomas Polucki welcomes in Blyth Birchall from the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center and Kurt Waite from the Ungunn by Byrna Bash.

Dr. Polucki begins the show by speaking with Blyth who tells us more in detail about the activities that the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center offers. From tai-chi, to zumba, and other aerobic classes, the Senior Center offers multiple ways to stay in shape and make friends. Not only are these courses available in person, but they are also available over Zoom for those that are unable to make it to the center. In addition, they also offer billiards and other recreational activity including ESL (English as a second language). Blythe states they continue to create new activities and groups to match what the seniors most enjoy and request.

“We want to provide what the seniors want,” Blyth said. “I’ve had requests for ukuleles, scrap booking, beginning Spanish, French, I want to find out what the seniors do because we have the space and we want to keep expanding our programs.”

Later, Kurt Waite joins the show to discuss the Ungunn, a non-lethal self-defense weapon that has provided seniors with a sense of safety. Not only does Kurt sell these weapons by Byrna Bash technology, he also offers training courses to make sure that you are educated on how, when, and when not to use this product.
