“SILENTS Under the Stars” is set to return to William S. Hart Regional Park, allowing residents to view the stars and watch a silent film starring a familiar Santa Clarita name. 

The unique fundraiser allows guests to view “Square Deal Sanderson,” a 1919 silent film starring William S. Hart, with a live musical accompaniment by Ray Lowe, according to City officials. 

In addition to the movie, guests will also have the opportunity to try an authentic barbecue meal from Rattlers BBQ, enjoy musical entertainment by the Grateful Dudes bluegrass band, and tour the Hart Mansion, officials said. 

Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on some historic and unique items in a silent auction. These items include; original artwork by local Santa Clarita artists, LA Conservancy Walking Tour of Choice for 15 people, Disney Concert Hall tickets, custom hand-painted Vans shoes with images of Hart and Fritz, a family lifestyle photo session, collectibles, a variety of gift baskets, according to officials.  

Nancy Gallardo, chair of SILENTS, believes the experience is unique, one many won’t often have an opportunity to enjoy.

“I am honored to be the chair for this 11th annual ‘SILENTS Under the Stars,’” Gallardo said. “This is the largest fundraiser of the year for Friends of Hart Park. The community has been very generous, donating some wonderful items to our silent auction, which is always a big hit.”

All proceeds from SILENTS are set to benefit Hart Park and the Hart Park animals, according to City officials. 

Presented by the Friends of Hart Park, the annual event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 10, under the oaks at Hart Hall from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
