Six Flags Theme Park To Increase Prices Due To Drop In Attendance

Six Flags is planning to increase prices due to drop in customer attendance, which could affect Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor prices

In the coming months, Six Flags CEO and President Selim Bassoul says they plan to offer new food options, a bigger FrightFest, and Octoberfest, hoping to increase attendance and revenue, according to officials.

“In 2022, we have shocked the system with a significant increase in ticket price. This has resulted in lower but more profitable attendance,” Bassoul said, according to a transcript of the corporate earnings call

Overall, the company said it’s been able to offset the attendance decrease through a model of attracting more customers who will spend more and going after a different market.

“We became a daycare center for teenagers,” Bassoul said. “It was a cheap daycare center for teenagers during breaks and the summers.”

  1. A shame to screw over decent families/people because of the scumbag rowdies that often come from LA/SFV/Bakersfield/Antelope Valley!

  2. “We became a daycare center for teenagers” & “It was a cheap daycare center for teenagers during breaks and the summers.”…. wow, I wonder if Disneyland thinks of their young customers like that.

    • I’ve know people for years going way back to the 80’s that would drop their kids off daily on their way to work. So yes, they finally realized they are a cheap daycare.

  3. Greedyland does, they know the surrounding areas & have ample security, that’s why very few low life fights etc. happen there as well as extreme high charges for admission & other trinkets, food, etc. That’s why free parks, beaches & lakes are overrun with low quality humans causing all types of crimes/problems!

  4. So now, attendance will drop even further, and they will need to raise the prices again. I think the fish rotted in the head.

  5. Price increase wouldn’t be bad if they clean up the park and made it more family friendly

    • Sure, they could have free salty popcorn, raise drink prices, and market it as upscale cotton-candy-land. That will keep the Riff Raff out, and keep the park cleaner with fewer affluent paying customers. Coin-op trash cans, and charge to get out, too!
